Amber Fayerweather

January 31, 1980 — July 17, 2018

Mrs. Amber McClure Fayerweather, of Canton, Georgia, passed away-much too soon- on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from melanoma in the brain. She was 38 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the Poole Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Cramer (Mishawaka IN)and Ted Miller (Hopewell Baptist, Canton) officiating and Pastor Ken Turner will officiate the graveside (Nashville, TN) Burial will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Woodstock directing. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home just prior to the service. Amber was born January 31, 1980 to James Michael and Marsha Spicer McClure in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. In May of 2002, she received her Bachelor's Degree from Taylor University, she later earned her Master's Degree from Indiana University, and her Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial in Tennessee. Amber began coaching volleyball at her Alma Mater, Taylor University. She served as an assistant coach for 3 years, under the guidance of her mentor, Angie Fincannon. She later coached at Mishawaka High School, her hometown school, where she attended and had a great HS career. Seeking a new adventure, Amber moved to Newnan, GA, where she taught for five years and coached the middle school team. Amber was ready to get back into high school coaching and moved to Coweta High School. Amber loved her classroom as much as she loved the volleyball court. She demanded the same commitment of her students as she did her players. After her parents moved to Canton, GA (2014) to be closer to her brother Jason's family, Amber made the move as well. She began teaching at Harrison High School and coached two years: winning back to back State Championships in AAAAAA. In May of 2017, Amber began dating Kevin Fayerweather and before they knew it-they were in love, engaged, and so very excited for the future. They were married February 22, 2018. She accepted a position at Newnan High School for this upcoming school year as Kevin is working south of Atlanta. She was so excited to be at Newnan, but just like when she left ECHS, she had tears in her eyes when she said good bye to the Harrison VB Team. Amber lived as she coached and taught-ALL IN- 100%. When given the diagnosis on March 23, 2018, there were no lingering tears-just determination and a will to beat the disease. She fought hard but the cancer was not going to go away. Amber passed away Tuesday afternoon, surrounded by loved ones and in the arms of Kevin. She took her last breath knowing she was loved. Amber was preceded in death by Adam Spicer (cousin), Jean & Hubert Spicer (maternal grandparents), James McClure (paternal grandfather), and Kevin's mother, Diosa Marie Summers. She is survived by her husband: Kevin, her parents: Jim & Marsha, her brother Jason and his wife Jennah, her nieces: Josie & Sami Also by her father in law: Michael Rhodes Fayerweather. Kevins sisters: Dawn Speers (Cassius) & Brenda Hill. By Keith & Doe Spicer, Larry & Shelly Griffiths (uncles/aunts), Chad & Jodie Pannel (cousins) all of Charlotte, NC, and by Erv & Jan Humeston of Litchfield MI, Merle & Erlene Spicer of Troy Mills, IA who are unable to travel. And by numerous other cousins, friends, and teammates from Mishawaka HS, Taylor University, Smokey Road Middle School, East Coweta High School, Harrison High School, and future players at Newnan High School. So many of us are guilty of asking the Lord why her, so loved, so talented, and so giving-but I need to question why did the Lord give us such a wonderful daughter.
