Barbara Germano

January 16, 1943 — April 5, 2019

Barbara's story began in Baltimore, MD born to Joseph and Josephine Casale on January 16, 1943. The family later welcomed Joseph (Jo Jo) in 1947 and Maria in 1950. After a few years the family moved to the Bronx (NY) where she grew up surrounded by a big, loud and loving Italian family. Attending Hunter College, she met the first love of her life, Charles Alfred Germano. They married in 1963 sharing 44 years together until Charlie lost his battle with prostate cancer in 2007. Together they produced three beautiful people, Lisa Germano Reidy married to Tim, Cindy Germano, and Charlie Germano married to Erin. She was adored by her six grandchildren Kirstin, Abby, Kyler, Patrick, Ciarli and Julia who affectionately referred to her Didi. She was soon to be a great grandma thanks to Abby and Brett. a role she was greatly looking forward to. In 2017 Barbara married Michael Clark and become the most loved and adored person on the planet. Her family expanded to include Mike's children Michael, Kelly married to Michael and Jackie married to Ken and five more precious grandchildren Lily, Madison, Morgan, KJ and Alex. Barbara traveled the world but was never happier than when her toes were in the sand. From Jones Beach in Long Island as a child to Destin, FL in later years, she never met a beach she didn't like. Many happy family reunions were held on the New Jersey Beach of Long Beach Island where 60 + family members spanning four generations gathered at the Annual Cugina Convention. We were lucky to her and Mike at the last convention in August 2018. Barbara's circle of friends is a collection from all the places she's lived and once in the circle, you are a friend for life. She loved life, living each day to the fullest with her daily mantra of "Life is Good". She brought out the best in people with her zest for living every day to fullest and if you were lucky enough to be her friend, she took you along for the ride. She served many people and organizations in her lifetime, but her latest passion was "Relay for Life" where she will be honored on April 26th for her contributions and her courageous fight with cancer. So in lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Relay for Life in her honor. http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLCY19SER?px=39105863&pg=personal&fr_id=91369 Services are planned for: Friday, April 12, 2019 at 2PM Transfiguration Catholic Church 1815 Blackwell Road Marietta, GA 30066
