Bennie Worthy

Bennie J. Worthy of Acworth, GA passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain. He was 87. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Woodstock with Rev. Marty Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home before the service. Mr. Worthy was born August 12, 1931 in Millerville, AL to the late Willie Earl and Mary Lee Harris Worthy. Mr. Worthy served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Bennie worked more than 20 years at Mead Packaging Company as a maintenance machinist. Mr. Worthy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty Jean Worthy; one son, Benjamin Carl Worthy; one brother, Ted Worthy; one sister, Edna Worthy; one son-in-law, Marshall Gray. Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Gray, Acworth, GA; one grandson, Jason Carl Gray, Woodstock, GA; one sister, Betty Smith (Lofton); one brother, Allen Worthy (Mary); four great grandchildren, Skylar Nordeen, Jason Gray, Jr., Hayden Gray and Blake Gray.
