Catherine A Dooley

Catherine " Kay" Dooley left this world peacefully at her home surrounded by family on July 11, 2021 at the age of 84.Born in Montclair N.J. to the daughter of the late Michael & Susan Byrne and graduating from Red Bank Catholic High School, Kay lived and raised her family in Fair Haven, New Jersey. For several years Kay was happily employed by the State of New Jersey where she met and married the late Jim Dooley. After spending many years residing in her beloved Fair Haven home, Kay moved to Georgia spending her later years with companion Tom Pritchard and being close to family.Kay thouroughly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved hosting family gatherings, her heritage, traveling, reading, and being an active parishioner of The Nativity Catholic Church back home in NJ as well as a parishioner here in Woodstock at Saint Michael the Archangel.Catherine was predeceased by her dear brother Jim Byrne and is survived by her 5 children and their spouses: daughter, Catherine O'Brien and husband Tim, son John Buchanan and wife Kathleen, son Frank Buchanan and wife Margaret, daughter Susan Zachos and husband Shane, daughter Tara Roberton and husband David. Also surviving are her three sisters: Patsy Marquet, Eileen Davis and husband Bernard, and Nancy Kirby. Catherine was a proud and dedicated grandmother to seven wonderful grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Daily morning mass will be said in memory of her soul at Saint Michael the Archangel, August 25th at 6:30 am.In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Catherine may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
