Mrs. Linda Jane Colton, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 11th, 2020, with her family by her side. She was 73. Mrs. Colton was born July 28, 1947 in Herrin, Illinois to the late William and Emma Hopkins. Mrs. Colton was a graduate of Southern Illinois University where she earned her bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She taught kindergarten for 25 years, and retired from Blackwell Elementary in Cobb County. After retirement Linda and her husband Ron built their dream home on the lake in Greenwood, South Carolina. After enjoying lake life for more than 10 years they moved back to Kennesaw, Georgia in 2017 to be close to their children and grandchildren. Linda enjoyed watching Braves baseball, gardening, shopping, boating, lounging by the pool and spending time with her family. Linda was a loving daughter, sister, wife, Mom and Mimi to her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Colton, Kennesaw, GA; three children, Michael Colton (Jennifer), Woodstock, GA, Melissa Blick (Brian), Acworth, GA and Marcy McGill (Derek), Acworth, GA; one brother, Roger Hopkins, Herrin, IL; three grandchildren, Brady Colton, Emma Blick and Blake McGill. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 19th, 2020 at Poole Funeral Home Chapel in Woodstock, Georgia with Reverend Larry Baker officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the service hour.
