Sandra Prince

Sandra Delois Prince-Nighman was born May 14, 1965 in Great Lakes, Illinois. Daughter of Master Sergeant Sylvester Prince and Earsell Prince, Sandra grew up in Missouri, Turkey, Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina and Georgia. She graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1989s with a BS in Sports Management. While there, she was a varsity cheerleader and captained the squad when the Eagles won their first football national championship. She remained in Statesboro for several years working towards her post graduate degree. She went on to work at the Buckhead YMCA, Decatur DeKalb YMCA, ViaSat, Nike and eBryIT. She married her beloved husband, Todd Nighman on June 14, 2008 and resided with him in Canton, GA. Sandra was an avid runner with the Atlanta Track Club. She completed 22 Peachtree Road Races and several marathons across the country. She was also an ALTA and USTA tennis member and participated in league play. Sandra passed away peacefully at her home on July 17th, just three and a half months after being diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer. Sandra was blessed and thankful to have garnered an abundance of dear, long-lasting friendships over her 52 years of life. Her uplifting, positive attitude and beautiful soul will be missed, and her light will live on in every life she has touched. Sandra is survived by her husband, Todd Nighman; mother, Earsell Prince; sisters, Sylvia Prince and Sharon Prince; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in California, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington D.C. Services will be held on Thursday August 3rd in the Chapel at First Baptist Woodstock at 11:30AM. Online condolences and memories may be left at www.PooleFuneralHome.net. The family would like to thank the Emory University Hospital and Winship Center doctors and staff and the Atlanta Hospice nurses and staff for their outstanding care and compassion. A special thank you to Dr. Alfredo Voloschin, her neurological oncologist.
