Steve Sisk

Jerry Steven "Steve"� Sisk, of Woodstock, traveled to the final field of dreams with his family and friends by his side on the evening of July 15th, 2021, after battling over a year with a Glioblastoma. He was 55.Steve was born November 7th, 1965, in Scottsboro, AL. the first of three children to the parents of Linda Sue (Bailey) and Roger Lee Sisk. He earned his Associates of Arts from the Art Institute of Atlanta.Steve' career spanned a vast array using his education, skills, talent, and passion. He had driven a bus many years for Cherokee County School District. His passion, and most known for, was his work on the field. He coached many years of baseball inspiring an enormous community of kids and parents. To know Steve was to know his leisure time was synonymous with his work at Hobgood Park. His daily driving force was inspired by his love for the community. Steve loved his time with his family and many friends, he enjoyed the water and fishing with his boys. He loved nature, taking care of his yard, and doing landscaping. Blessed with 27 wonderful years and adoring their journey of faith, Steve leaves behind his wife Janice (Collis) Sisk and their three sons, Zachary S. and (special friend Melanie), Jackson B. and (special friend Kaitlin), and Anderson J. and (special friend Maggie) Sisk. Other survivors include his parents, Linda and Roger Sisk, Huntsville, AL; brother, Russell A. Sisk (Vernice), Hazel Green, AL; sister, Deanna Y. Sisk, Huntsville, AL; two mothers-in-law, Ruth DeBroux (John), Gwen Collis, three sisters-in-law; Jacqueline Rodgers (special friend, Todd), Becky Collis, Fran Collis; several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.Preceded in death were Steve' grandparents, R.B. and Jocie A. (Steele) Sisk, Oscar J., and Clara Mae (Freeman) Bailey. Two fathers-in-law, Bobby Jack Collis and Gary Bond, and a brother-in-law, Graden "Mark"� Collis.Visitation will be held Sunday, July 18th, 2021, at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 4 to 7 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 am at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Hunt officiating.
