STEVEN FRANKLIN HILLIARD of Acworth, Georgia, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Killeen, Texas, Steve joined the Army after high school. Upon completing his service, he worked as an elevator mechanic for ThyssenKrupp for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting and deep-sea fishing trips with his coworkers. After retirement, Steve founded HCCM (Hilliard Custom Cabinetry and Millwork) until his second retirement 10 years later. In his off time, Steve enjoyed woodworking, golfing, riding his motorcycle and buying and fixing cars. Survivors include his devoted wife of 37 years, Sarah A Hilliard and his daughter Stephanie A. Beck (Christopher) of Woodstock, his sisters Joy E Shaffer (Richard) and Rebecca Halter (Scott) of Dallas, Georgia, and Grandchildren Kaitlyn, Nathan and Lillian Beck and nieces and nephew, Shane Corley, Jenny Luck, Jeda Shaffer, Mandy Hill, Casey James, Alicia Webster, Brandon Brooks, Bradley Martinez, and Adam Martinez. A celebration of life will be held Saturday March 7, 2020 at Poole Funeral Home, Woodstock, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to Noon with a memorial service at Noon followed by a reception.
