Wanda Vinson

Wanda Jo Vinson, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain. She was 70. Funeral services will be held 12:30 pm Thursday, February 27, 2020 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with Rev. Mack Riley, Rev. Terry Phillips, and Rev. Beth Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12 noon at the church on Thursday before the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, www.donate3.cancer.org. Mrs. Vinson was born September 11, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late John Calvin and Bobbie Durham Cox. Wanda worked for more than 20 plus years at Cobb County Government in the Solicitor General's Office. Mrs. Vinson was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of more than 35 years Drew Vinson in 2018, her daughter, Mary Ruth Addison, her brother, James Thomas Cox. Survivors include her son, William Shane Addison (Susan); her grandson, Mitchell Keith Addison; her sisters, Sheryl Darlene Cox, Bobbie Jean Cox Ely (Michael), Jimmie Cox Munn (David), Peggie Cox Hawkins (Ken); sister-in-law, Randa Vinson Graves (Jack); numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kenny Hawkins, Mike Young, Chris Bowen, Jimmy Ivie, Bob Rogers, and Ed Nelson.
