Chasity Michelle Schug

March 18, 1977 — November 4, 2021

Our loving Chasity Michelle (Kirby) Schug, 44, of Woodstock, Georgia, crossed into heaven’s gates Thursday, November 4, 2021. Surrounded by her loving family, cherished friends, and empathetic hospital staff, Chasity went to be with our Lord way too soon.

Chasity was born in Dalton, Georgia, and was the beautiful daughter of William Marion Kirby, III and LaFonda Richardson Harrison. Growing up in her parents’ hometown, cultivated her love of community and giving. She began dance and softball there, which brought her such joy. In 1989, she moved to Marietta, Georgia, where she continued her love of sports eventually becoming the manager of the Lassiter High School soccer team. After graduating from high school, she settled in Athens, Georgia, where her and Scott’s love story began.

In 1999, Woodstock became their forever home and was the foundation of Chasity and Scott’s loving family. They were married on February 9, 2002, and had two amazing sons, Carter and Preston. Chasity was born to be a mom, and her boys were her greatest accomplishment. Chasity’s lifelong love of children led her to start an in-home daycare, while also being heavily involved in her own boys’ school and many sport activities. She was always volunteering in the community, cheering for every child, and building relationships which turned friends into family.

While expanding her community of friends, she was often found documenting memories behind her camera. Family time was coveted, and the entire family loved to explore the Georgia outdoors. When at home she enjoyed countless hours in her garden and spending precious time with her mom and Will, her best friends.

As a loyal member of the community and second mom to so many, Chasity had a gift of unconditional love. She wanted to have more of an impact on children, and she found a home at Hillside Preschool and Academy. Chasity was a lead teacher for the infants and spread her genuine love to all her students.

Chasity left an impression on everyone she met with her infectious smile and love for people which resulted in many lifelong friends. She lived by her quote, “I love you to the moon and back.”

Chasity is preceded in death by her father, William Marion Kirby III, paternal grandparents, Marion and Cecile Kirby, maternal grandparents, Hill and Frances Richardson, Aunt Barbara Richardson Beavers, and Godmother Rita Smeltzer.

Survivors include her loving husband Scott Schug, her children Carter Allen Schug and Preston Riley Schug, mother and stepfather, LaFonda & Richard Harrison, brothers, Will (Stacy) Kirby and Zach Kobrin, mother and father-in-law, Gerald and Jane Schug, sister-in-law, Shelley (Pete) Jones, Godfather David Smeltzer, nephews, Walker Kirby, Wyatt Kirby, Griffin Jones and niece Cassie Jones, aunts Kaye (Robert) Wiley & Melinda Zarate and uncle Gene (Holli) Richardson.
