Deborah Kay Chamblee

Deborah (Debi) Kay Chamblee, 67, of East Ellijay, Ga, passed away April 29, 2023. She was born in Hampton, Ga, to the late James and Hazel Chamblee. Debi retired after 33 years as an Air Traffic Controller at the FAA center in Hampton, Ga. She enjoyed tennis, golf, fishing, kayaking, camping, pickelball but mostly spending time with her friends and family (2 and 4 legged). She was an avid games player and feriously competitive. Survivors include Vicki Chamblee, Smyrna; Cat (Paul) Humphries, Valencia, Ca; Cindy Chamblee, Franklin, Tn; Becky (Ray) Russell, Ellijay; Nephew, Jason Humphries (Aleix) Maui, Hi; Jessica (John) Frank, Santa Clarita, Ca; Katie Russell, Maui, Hi; Great nephew and nieces, Wesley, Annalise, Savannah Grace Frank and Eli and Luke Humphries and many cousins.  Debi will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her ability to bring laughter and joy was her greatest gift. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Donations in Debi's name can be made to Gilmer County Food Bank and Gilmer County Animal Shelter, both dear to her heart.
