Dorothy Coombs

Mrs. Dorothy Coombs of Acworth, Georgia, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at the age of 82. She is survived by her husband George W. Coombs of 63 years, and sister Barbara Weaver. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 31, 2018 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. Dorothy was the first baby born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 1, 1936, to the late Eugene and Thelma Sears Walker. Dorothy was the consummate salesperson, working for AVON for over 25 years, as well as other sales positions before retiring in 2002. She loved spending time with her family and friends as was always the life of the party. Dorothy loved to travel, and she and George visited many worldwide destinations. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Betty Tool and Carolyn Brookshire, and her brothers William, Carl, and Robert Walker. Dorothy is also survived by her daughter, Carol Coombs; son, Ron Coombs and his wife Sherri; son Alan Nunn; grandson Zach Sabo and his wife Jenny; grandson Devin Coombs, and granddaughter Ryann Coombs.
