Franklin Bellanton

August 30, 1963 — December 24, 2023

Franklin Bellanton was born on August 30, 1963, in Villard, Haiti, to Marie Belzina Dorce Bellanton, a cultivator, and Jerome Bellanton, a cultivator and driver. He became a devoted husband, a tender father, and an unwavering pillar of strength for his cherished family.

Growing up in St Marc, Haiti, Franklin, the fourth luminous soul among his siblings, embarked on his early scholastic journey at Georges Angus School and Saint Nicholas School. This foundation laid the cornerstone for a life etched with resilience, hard work, and unwavering determination. His later academic pursuits at Lycée Stenio Vincent and College Midouin mirrored his commitment to the pursuit of knowledge. In 1984, Franklin left his Haitian homeland, embarking on an odyssey in the United States, where he endeavored to master the nuances of English and carve a destiny for himself.

In a poignant testament to his enduring strength and steadfast commitment to love, Franklin Bellanton entered into the sacred union of marriage with the love of his life, Islande Cadet, on October 31, 1987. Their sacred vows marked the exquisite inception of a lifetime devoted to their shared journey, and the profound love he held for his wife is a legacy etched into the hearts of those privileged to know the couple.

His dedication to fatherhood stood as a testament to the very essence of his character. Blessed with four radiant children-Fadjen, Jessica, Alain, and Capriana Lilly-Franklin's commitment to their well-being propelled him to tirelessly toil for a better life. In 1989, he relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, with his wife, seeking an environment conducive to family life and the education of their children. In 2004, they found their haven in Woodstock, Georgia, where Franklin diligently contributed to Computer Numerical Control (CNC) as a machinist. His pursuit of personal growth led him to master HVAC systems at the Interactive College of Technology, Georgia campus.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Franklin found solace in life's simple joys. Whether reveling in the camaraderie of a soccer or tennis match, listening to music, or engaging in spirited games of checkers, he embraced life with unwavering enthusiasm. A fitness enthusiast, Franklin inspired others to join him in his workouts. Vacations with his wife and moments shared with friends and family were sources of profound joy. Saturday family conference calls became cherished rituals, weaving a tapestry of enduring memories brimming with love and laughter.

In February 2023, Franklin confronted an unforeseen battle with cancer, which began in his appendix and later permeated his colon. Throughout this arduous journey, his wife, Islande, remained steadfast by his side, epitomizing the strength of their unbreakable bond.

Franklin leaves in his wake a legacy of love and resilience and is survived by his wife, Islande Bellanton; his parents, Marie Belzina Dorce Bellanton and Jerome Bellanton; his children and son-in-law, Fadjen Amerie (Yansen DeAbreu), Jessica, Alain, and Capriana Lilly Bellanton; and grandson, Arnold Walton III. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters-in- law, Sylvio (Mathewla), Frantz (Jeffna), Serge (Ginette), and Gerold, and his sisters and brother-in-law, Venette, Belzina (Walter Edward), and Sabrina. As well as his nephews, Sylvens, Reginald, Fitzgerald, Ethan, Daniel, Junior, Christopher, and Lamont; nieces, Sheldean, Fatima, Frandina, Natalie, Sophia, Roldith, Geroldith, Shanice, Dahlia, and
