Glen Rice

April 26, 1941 — January 27, 2019

Glen Rice, Sr, age 78, of Woodstock, GA passed peacefully surrounded by his wife, children and his beloved dog Lulu. Glen was born in Carey, OH where he grew up farming and becoming an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, camping and fishing which he shared with his wife and children throughout his years. After graduating from high school Glen enlisted in the United States Army and served with distinction as a Communications Specialist, receiving an honorable discharge. After his service in the Army, Glen met and married Sandra "Sandi" Martin in Michigan and together they raised three sons. Glen and Sandi lived in Flushing, MI for a time while Glen worked for General Motors in Swartz Creek, MI. They then moved to Woodstock, GA where he was employed as a Systems Software Specialist for Lockheed Martin. After his retirement from Lockheed, Glen and Sandi continued their love of the outdoors and travel by venturing to countless locations across the country in their RV as well as enjoying trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean and Alaska. A loving and honorable husband, father and grandfather, Glen's passions included traveling, RVing, working in his yard, computer programing and photography but above all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Glen was an active member of the Woodstock Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and enjoyed attending Monday Night for the Masters. Glen was preceded by his parents, John and Beatrice Rice and his brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Delores Rice. Left to honor Glen and remember his love and devotion are his wife Sandi, sons Glen "Eddie" Rice, Jr, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Rice, Jeremy (Kristi) Rice, siblings Mary (David Fitzjohn) Bradley, Ernie (Ray) Rice and his grandchildren Douglas Jacob "Jake" Wilson Rice, Ashley Rice, Caleb Rice, Megan Rice, Jonathan Rice, Audrey Rice and Adeline Rice. Services will be held on Friday, February 1st at the Woodstock Church of Christ located at 219 Rope Mill Road, Woodstock, GA, 30188.Viewing time will be from 10am to 11am immediately followed by the service from 11am to noon and a memorial reception from noon to 1:30. Glen will be interred at his final resting place, the Georgia National Cemetery located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA 30114 at noon on Monday, February 4th. In honor of Glen's support of Disabled American Veterans, it is requested that memorial donations be made in his name to the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust in lieu of flowers.
