Mrs. Hazel Phillips McAdoo, born February 5, 1925, resident of Woodstock, GA, formerly of Greensboro, NC, departed this life Monday, April 17, 2023, at age 98. Mrs. McAdoo was born in Bear Creek, North Carolina to her late parents, Paul and Beulah Cheek Phillips. Hazel graduated from St. Leo’s Nursing School in Greensboro, NC, and she worked as a nurse for over 30 years at Cone Hospital in Greensboro. She was a member of her beloved Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, where she was once voted as Woman of the Year. Hazel was very active in the American Businesswoman’s Association. Mrs. McAdoo was preceded in death by her husband William Frank McAdoo, Jr. as well as three sisters and one brother. Survivors include her children, Gala Goldfarb, William Frank McAdoo III, former daughter-in-law Rebecca Turner, and sister-in-law Shirley Phillips. Grandchildren, Suzanne Wohlhuter (Charlie), William Frank McAdoo IV, Anna McAdoo, Robert McAdoo, and Patricia McAdoo. Great granddaughter, Vivian Wohlhuter, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. McAdoo will be laid to rest in Greensboro, NC at a later date. Poole Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Woodstock, GA are in charge of the arrangements. www.poolefuneralhome.net
