James Franklin Bruley

May 27, 1951 — September 22, 2020

James "Jim" Bruley Sr., our loving husband, father and "papa", passed away peacefully on September 22, 2020. Jim was born on May 27, 1951 in Atmore, Alabama. He grew up surrounded by his siblings and family. He proudly served his country from 1970 - 1972 during the Vietnam War. On September 18, 1982 he married the love of his life Betty Mangum and in 1985 they welcomed their only child, James Bruley Jr., into the world. Jim found his passion for all things speed when he began his career as a mechanic in the 1980's. When he wasn't under the hood he was behind the wheel. He loved cruising to car shows and sharing all his stories with anyone who would lend an ear. If he wasn't surrounded by the rumble of the engine, he could be found in the quiet early morning deer stand or john boat waiting for his next prize catch. Jim is survived by his wife of 38 years, Betty Magnum Bruley, Woodstock, GA; one son, James Bruley, Jr. (Ashley), Woodstock, GA; two sisters, Barbara James and Judy James; one sister-in-law, Linda Magnum; two brothers, Ray Bruley and Mac Fenner; one grandson, Dominick Bruley; several nieces and nephews; A graveside service will be held for family only at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 23, 2020 at Georgia National Cemetery.
