James Speight, a dedicated Lineman for Pike Electric and Davis H. Elliott, has suddenly passed in Cartersville, Georgia. Born on January 19, 1960, in Orange County, California, James lived a life full of adventure, work, and love for his family.
Throughout his 30-year career in the electrical industry, James was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. He took pride in his work and forged lasting friendships along the way. James proudest accomplishments included winning many golf and fishing tournaments showcasing his competitive spirit and determination.
Outside of work, James found joy in many hobbies and interests. From watching Alabama football to exploring the outdoors through hunting, fishing, kayaking, and camping, he embraced all that life had to offer. His love for golf and NASCAR brought him immense happiness, as did gathering with friends and family at the local Waffle House.
Among his fondest memories were trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where he enjoyed playing mini golf with loved ones. Known for his reserved demeanor and dry sense of humor, James had a caring heart and was a devoted father to his daughter, Chelsie Groves and his granddaughter, Collins Groves.
In this time of mourning, James is survived by his daughter, Chelsie Groves and her husband, Dallas; his granddaughter, Collins; one living sister; two living brothers; one niece; one great-niece; as well as the Farley family, Caldwell family and the Mahoney family.
James Speight will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, hardworking nature, and kind heart. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace knowing that he touched the lives of many with his warmth and caring personality.
