Joseph Richard Cassidy

September 23, 1966 — March 10, 2023

Cartersville

Joe Cassidy, extraordinary dad, obsessed with the show COPS (actually, any police related show), dog lover of Dixie Mae and Thor, a man who loved his Scally Caps, laughed until he cried watching the movie “A Christmas Story” especially when Ralphie comes down the stairs in a bunny suit, a great friend and a humble man who loved his family dearly, passed away March 10, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Joe was born September 23, 1966 in Moses Lake, WA. to Dave and Charlene Cassidy.  Joe was a great big brother to Ron and Brian Cassidy.  He really enjoyed bantering with his brothers and even tied up Brian a time or two around a tree. lol.  He is survived by his precious daughters, Gracie and Abby (mother Julie) of Woodstock GA, his mother and father, Dave and Charlene Cassidy, his brothers Ron (niece Alex, and nephew Liam), Brian (Carla), and Aunt Anne Cassidy all from WA.

Joe’s biggest accomplishment and pride were his two girls: Gracie and Abby.  Just seeing them and talking about them brought him much joy and happiness.  He enjoyed taking them to the Tellus Museum, fishing, to the Tennessee aquarium, but mostly, they enjoyed their car time driving to their favorite “hang out”,  Buc-ee’s.

Joe loved his country!! He served in the Army and National Guard for 22 years as an MP, even serving in Iraq.  He joined the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and worked as a deputy from 8/28/08-04/01/22 and loved every moment of that job.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the gofund page set up for the girls to help with their future dreams. https://gofund.me/69247e43
