Lynn Allen Welborn

July 20, 1950 — September 28, 2021

Lynn “Allen” Welborn of Woodstock, Georgia passed away to his eternal home in heaven on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Jean (Sherwood) Welborn, his sister Reva Campbell, his brother Austin Welborn, five children, daughter Ashley Paige Mullins and husband Brian, son Paul Allen Welborn and wife Adriana, daughter Natalie Erin Mashaw and husband Reece, son John William Welborn and wife Ashley, daughter Sheri Lynn Welborn, and fourteen grandchildren, Rebekah Mullins, Hannah Mullins, Bethany Mullins, Gavin Mashaw, Lydia Mullins, Grace Welborn, Kate Mashaw, Elijah Welborn, Emma Welborn, Luke Mashaw, Wyatt Mashaw, Dylan Welborn, Allison Welborn and Charlie Welborn. He is preceded in death by his father Johnny Welborn, mother Texie Mae Welborn and late wife Rebekah (White) Welborn. Allen served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharged in 1974 and began pursuing his calling into the ministry. Over 47 years, he served 13 churches in California, North Carolina, Louisiana, Indiana, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia in the role of pastor as well as serving as an itinerant evangelist with Finish Line Focused Ministries. Allen was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan who enjoyed vacationing by the water and eating seafood at every opportunity.

A funeral service in Allen’s honor is being held on Saturday, October 2nd at 11am in the A Building Chapel at First Baptist Church, 11905 Hwy 92, Woodstock, Georgia 30188 with Dr. Johnny Hunt officiating. The service will also be live streamed at www.PooleFuneralHome.net. A viewing will be available prior to the service on Saturday at 10am, and Allen’s family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service at First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Allen’s honor can be given to the Hope Center (www.supporthopecenter.com) or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund: www.jdrf.or
