Margaret Payne

Mrs. Margaret Virginia Payne, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw, GA. She was 79. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Woodstock Church of Christ, 219 Rope Mill Road, Woodstock, GA 30188 with Minister Bryan Collins officiating. Burial will follow Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Georgia National Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Woodstock Church of Christ, 219 Rope Mill Road, Woodstock, GA 30188. Mrs. Payne was born January 3, 1939 in Marietta, GA to the late Herbert and Johnnie Barfield Day. Mrs. Payne worked for 29 years at the Cobb County School District as an Administrative Assistant. Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Hubert Payne of 59 years in April 2018, also her son Kenneth Ronald Payne in November 2016. Her nephew Keith Glass preceded her in death in April of 2017. Survivors include her two sons, Barry Payne (Ellen), Woodstock, GA., Steve Payne (Heike), Woodstock, GA; three grandchildren, Brooke Payne, Christi Payne, and Carson Payne; two sisters, Helen Glass (Fred), Louise McCord (Don); several nieces and nephews.
