Mrs. Melanie Ann (Browning) Lewis, aged 62, of Woodstock, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023. Born in Orlando, Florida, Melanie brought joy and love to the lives of those around her. She was the daughter of David and Gloria “Jean” (Toney) Browning.
Melanie's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and deep connections with her loved ones. She shared 30 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Keith Lewis, building a bond that stood the test of time. Melanie's legacy is also carried forward by her son, Ryan Lewis, who she cherished dearly.
In 2020, having dedicated three decades of her life, Melanie retired from BellSouth/AT&T, where she helped lay the groundwork for the modern communication technologies we all enjoy today. Her contributions left an indelible mark on both her colleagues and the company she served.
Tragedy struck when Melanie was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Shamburger. Though Jennifer is no longer physically present, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Melanie had a genuine passion for life and found solace in simple yet meaningful activities. She had an artistic soul, often gathering wildflowers around her cabin on the mountain to create beautiful arrangements that reflected the serenity of nature. Another of her beloved pastimes was wandering along various beaches, collecting beautiful and unique seashells. These moments of connection with the world around her brought a sense of calm and fulfillment that defined her essence.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Melanie Ann Lewis will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home. The Reverend Matthew Popham will officiate the ceremony, providing solace and comfort to those in attendance. Prior to the service, a visitation period will be held from 9:30 AM, allowing friends and family to pay their respects.
In memory of Melanie, flowers are graciously accepted and can be sent to the funeral home. Alternatively, for those who wish to contribute in a different manner, prayers on behalf of a friend or loved one in need of God's healing are encouraged. Arrangements for the service have been thoughtfully provided by Poole Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Woodstock.
Melanie's legacy of love, resilience, and her penchant for finding beauty in the world around her will forever be cherished. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will continue to inspire and comfort those who had the privilege of knowing her.
