Nancy Lou Pegelow

Nancy Pegelow, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and beloved educator, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024. She was 88 years old.

Born on April 20, 1936, in Oneida, NY, to Lorimer and Uretta Zimmerman, Nancy pursued her passion for education by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Brockport State University in Brockport, NY. 

A longtime resident of Webster, NY, Nancy dedicated 40 years to teaching kindergarten in the Webster public school district. She cherished her students and found immense joy in fostering their growth and learning. Her love for her community and the friendships she built with fellow teachers were central to her life.

Nancy deeply cherished her faith, family, and friends. A devoted member of the United Methodist Church of Webster for 62 years, she dedicated much of her time to serving in Sunday school, assisting with Communion, and contributing to the Bereavement team. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and guided her in all that she did.

Nancy will be remembered for her remarkable ability to connect with others, her generous spirit, and her zest for life. She leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, Donald Pegelow; her two daughters, Jodie Pegelow Everingham (Denise) and Jennifer Pegelow Setter (Scott); and five cherished grandsons: Evan Setter (Anslie), Brett Everingham, Zachary Setter, Noah Setter, and Ryan Setter.

In honor of Nancy’s lifelong dedication to children’s well-being and education, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Nancy’s legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
