Norbert Ralph Lumpp passed away on October 19, 2023, at the age of 84.
Norbert, better known as Fuzzy or Norbie, will be remembered as a loyal husband, devoted father and trustworthy grandpa who without a doubt will be missed dearly. He was a family man first with a gracious heart, but will always be celebrated as a dedicated military man who worked hard and supported his family.
Although family always came first, he found his second love in golf, fishing, riding his motorcycle and traveling. Not only was he an outdoorsman, he was a dedicated sports fan of the Atlanta Falcons, Braves and Georgia Dawgs. You could always find him at his grandkids’ events and games cheering them on, as long as his big leaguers weren’t playing.
Before he was known as a family man, Fuzzy was a well known athlete in high school. He was involved in many school programs, such as track and field, football, band and basketball.
He was inducted into the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame for football and earned several medals in track and field.
Norbert served honorably as a Specialist Five in the United States Army for 6 years and continued to be a proud Vietnam Veteran, have you seen the stickers all over his truck?
He is survived by his wife Suzanne Lumpp, daughter Gina (Scott) Parks, son Matthew (Kasey) Lumpp, sisters Rosina Ricciardi (Frank), Elanor Cogborn, Linda Lutes (Bill), sister-in-laws Cathy (John) Priest, Anita (Hugh) Bishop, grandchildren Caitlin (Jack) Tribble, Dustin Parks, Brendon Lumpp, Blake Lumpp, Bryant Lumpp and a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews.
Although a man of few words, Fuzzy will be missed by all. He was a joyous man with one contagious laugh. His hardworking nature will be carried on by the men who looked up to him and loved him. His dedication and love to his family will be carried on by generations to come.
