Rickey Joe Nipper

Mr. Rickey Joe Nipper went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 16, 2021 at Kennestone Hospital. He was the son of Wilburn Nipper and Thelma Nipper-Farris. Known by Rick, he was born in Fairfield Illinois on April 16, 1953. He was a retired electrician by trade and a handyman within his neighborhood. Rick was known for his non-stop work ethic, generosity and inviting attitude to all. He occasionally attended Glade Road Baptist Church. Rick was a loving brother to his many siblings. He is preceded in death by his brothers Gary and Kenneth Nipper, and sister Rosella Nipper. Rick is survived by his soulmate and loving wife of 42 years Penny Rae Preston, who he married on August 21st,1978. Rick leaves behind 3 children Rickey Nipper Jr. and Monique of Acworth Ga, Donnie Nipper and Brooke of Cartersville GA, and Ashley Nipper and Elliot Harding of Acworth GA. His surviving siblings include Larry Nipper and Carole of McLeansboro Ill, Jerry Graham and Shirley of Acworth GA, Judy Savage of McLeansboro Ill, Janice Ford and Curtis of McLeansboro Ill, Paul Nipper and Sue of Rockmart GA, and twin sister Vicki Herges and Bob of Seabring KY. Rick is also survived by multiple grandchildren Donnie Jr, Kyle, Jordan, Landon, Emeilia, Chase, Caden, Jacob, Joyelle, Scarlett and Brandon; and great-granddaughter Paisleigh Nipper. As a young boy growing up in McLeansboro Ill, Rick enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, and preaching to his siblings in their hen house. His life was one that was filled with love for his family and those around him. When he wasn't working, which was rare, he was teaching his grandsons how to be good men and work hard for what they want, and teaching his granddaughters how they were supposed to be loved and treated. Rick loved watching his grandchildren and supported them in all that they did, if it was playing football or baseball he was always on the sidelines to cheer them on. He loved teaching them to fish on Lake Acworth and watching Nascar with them. The family of Mr. Rickey Joe Nipper will receive family and friends on Tuesday April 20,2021 from five o'clock in the afternoon until seven o'clock in the evening at Poole Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mr. Rickey Joe Nipper will be held on Wednesday April 21, 2021 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Glade Road Baptist Church, located at 6570 Glade Rd. SE. Acworth Ga. 30102. Officiating will be Pastor Chuck Smith. Interment will follow in Rolling Hills Memory Gardens; Mr. Nipper' grandsons will serve as his pallbearers.
