Roberta (Bobbie) H Buffkin, 83, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Monday, April 3rd.
Bobbie, aka Mom, was born on January 18, 1940 in Mobile Alabama and was the ninth and last child of Edward and Edna Hannon. She is predeceased by her husband C. David Buffkin and all of her 8 siblings. She leaves behind her 3 children, Ruth Buffkin Rousseaux (Mike Rousseaux), Beth Buffkin (Darla Kemp), David Buffkin Jr. (Kelly Kanapin), 7 grandchildren Jessica, Michaela, David, Zachary, Isabella, Sophia, Cheyenne, 3 great grandboys, Ezra, Felix, Desmond and host of nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews
There is nothing mom would not or could not do. From screaming the loudest on rollercoasters, wrecking motorcycles and boats, stranding herself and her children on sailboats, driving 100 mph in the desert telling us not to tell dad and outdriving a truck through the streets of Mexico City. She moved us over and over again following Dad's career and somehow made it seamless to us.
To Mom the only good game of bridge was one that she won. She could make the best fried chicken and the absolute best potato salad in the world. Her pound cakes would last in the house for about an hour. To be fair, she would also tell some pretty tasteless jokes.
Mom overachieved in every job she ever held. She definitely had a competitive side. If there was a bonus tied to a contest, she’d win it. If there was a trip tied to a contest, others were wasting their time trying.
We are going to miss you so much mom. Our hearts are empty. We love you.
Dad - Get ready because here she comes, you better watch out!
