Terry Robert Brettner

Mr. Terry Robert Brettner, of Canton, Georgia formerly of Marietta passed away March 1st, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness. He was 72 years old. A Celebration of his life will be held 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at Poole Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Banks Bazzell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to www.roadtriphome.org, an animal rescue organization. Mr. Brettner was born June 21st, 1948 in Chicago, IL to the late Robert Edward and Esther Ann Dritlein Brettner. Mr. Brettner was an Electrical Engineer and was employed with General Mills for 15 year. The Coca Cola company as a Project Manager for 10 years. Colonial Pipeline for several years. Mr. Brettner was a member of the IEEE Organization and the PMI Institute. Terry was in the Navy reserves for 8 years. Terry taught engineering classes at KSU and Marietta HS. Terry was an active member of two HOA Boards in Marietta and Ellijay for 11 years. Terry was a loving husband and father. He loved to travel and spend time with his dog Murphy. He is Survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Brettner, daughters, Jeanette Ingram (Brian), Stacy Karably (Ben); four granddaughters, Kylie and Hailey Ingram, Grace and Hazel Karably, grandson Miles Karably, and his sister Sharon HarlanOnline condolences may be made at www.poolefuneralhome.net
