Mrs. Virginia Ellen Abeling, age 84, wife of the late Arthur Bernard Abeling, passed away at her home Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Visitation will be held Saturday October 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 noon at the Poole Funeral Home in Woodstock, GA; with Reverend Bill DeBardebelen officiating. A reception will follow. Her lifetime career was in the travel industry, working for National Airlines and into Pan American as the companies merged. She was the first woman in the "National Airlines Management Club." After moving to Atlanta, she was a manager for Uniglobe VIP Travel for 10 years. Virginia loved to travel the world, her favorite destinations were Paris and Vienna. She also loved spending time with family, recently returning from their 30th annual Hilton Head beach trip. Virginia served over two decades as the Missions/Outreach Coordinator for The Church of Jesus Our Shepard and ten years on the Board of Directors of Papa's Pantry in which her daughter, Lynne Saunders, founded. She also served on the Board at the Vineyards of Kennesaw. In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Kallusch, and sister Ruth Comstock. Survivors include her daughter, Lynne Saunders and husband Bill; son, James Forney; brothers Herbert and Fredrick Kallusch; grandchildren, Andrea King and husband Daniel, Laura Heath and husband David, and Dana Saunders; great grandchildren, twins Ansley and Ashton King, Bryan, Bradley and Benjamin Heath.
